Google Keyword Planner is one of my most favorite online tools i usually use for getting keyword ideas! It is really an excellent tools which can give you plenty of keywords instantly!

For this you have to visit the following link- https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner

# First step: Log in with your Google Account!

# Second step:  Click on ”Google Keyword Planner”

#Third step:  Now put the keyword you want in the keyword field and click ‘Get Ideas’ Tab.

As for example, here i am targeting a keyword like ‘Keyword research’

Now this tool is showing me plenty of keyword ideas regarding my targeted keyword.

Note: You may notice around 800+ keywords at a time, but all keywords may not be suitable to your needs.

So, now i will Export all keyword to my Computer by clicking on “Download” Tab.

The next step is to Open this CSV file in Microsoft Excel program. ( If you have not this program then you have to install MS Excel in your Computer)

Now it is the perfect time to do real keyword research!

You can see there are many column in Excel file. We will remove some of the unnecessary columns like ‘Keyword CPC’, ‘Advertiser Bids’ etc.

We will have only “keyword” and “Search Volume” Column in Excel file.

# While researching keyword we should keep in our mind on ‘high search volume’ keyword and must be related  to our ‘Niche’.

# It is good to select such kind of keyword which have average 800-1000 local search volume. ( The more the better) But if we do not find, then we can consider at least 300-500 search volume keywords.

# It is very important to choose keyword which is most profitable. But how do you know is it profitable to you?

Yes, you can guess it yourself! Keyword which have-

(1) Good search volume monthly.

(2) Niche related.

(3) Easy to rank in the SERPs.

(4) Have commercial value.

Basically, it depends on what kind of site you have or in what niche you are?

If you are in Affiliate niche then you must look for keyword which have commercial value. I mean, buyer intention. And on the other hand, in general niches like information based content, it is not necessary.

And, how do you know the competition of your keyword?

There are many one tools can help you in that, some tools are paid and some are free in use!

If you are a beginner in SEO then I suggest you to go for free keyword research tool like Long tail PRO. It has 10 days free trial. It has awesome features like

‘KC’ button, I mean keyword competitiveness features which can tell how much competetition of the keyword have, what you are targeting!

Besides of that, a lot of online tool you may get by searching Google!

By this process we will be able to find our keyword and will select some of the most related keyword having good search volume monthly. Then, we will write content on this keyword.

Actually, keyword research is a long process. You need to spend more time on it. Once you find a profitable keyword, then it will worth the time you spent when you will get the search traffic
